The inspiration for this beautiful tribal Tagua nuts necklace shaped like the claws of the bear came last year to me when visiting Alaska and The Fortress of the Bear, in Sitka, a place where bear cubs, that have come close to the civilization have been rescued. You may not know , but after 3 strikes, or three times foraging in the human food or close to the villages, the cubs and their mothers are euthanized. Most of the houses has trash can with locks to prevent attract the bears, but still there are a lot of humans who don't care.

In the Fortress of the Bear you can see close by, in their habitat, bears that other way may be euthanized by us, the civilization.

Also visiting Glacier Bay ,from our cruise balcony , I was able to see a bear mother teaching to caught salmon to her baby (picture) and while visiting Ketchikan I saw also a lot of bear's claws being sold for super expensive prices at fine jewelry stores. I hate hunters!

This necklace Bear FORTRESS is my tribute to Alaska wild live and is my expression to create conscience about conservation. White polar bears are drowning in the ocean and starving because global warming, there are still a lot of hunters trying to catch fur in places like Sitka and Ketchikan. Instead of capturing a video that will last forever and educate people about live and conservation.

Is time for you, to start to do something, even providing a monthly donation to World Wild Fund, Defenders of Wildlife who work for protest Alaska against oil drilling or small local rescue organizations like The Fortress of the Bear, is a way to change the world one action at a time , if there are many, we will make a great difference.

Enjoy BEAR'S FORTRESS it comes from my heart, was design with passion and is my tribute to Alaska and its wildlife. And is all made of tagua nut carved with love, even the claws were carefully carved and polished dozens of times, so the piece is smooth and does not poke or scratch or itch in the skin
